Are your young students familiar with at least two of the following notions in Jewish education: The story of Hanukah, The Shema and the Akeda? (The binding of Isaac) If so, let them explore how modern Israeli poetry challenges their understanding and knowledge.

The session includes the study of three poems by Aharon Zeev, Yehuda Amichai and Eliaz Cohen. Each dealing with one of the three Jewish themes mentioned above. Students will explore contemporary issues in Israeli life as reflected through the poetic dialogue with biblical and liturgical themes.
